Shaquille O’Neal has spoken out against the Miami Heat’s decision to retire the jersey of the legend Michael Jordan in their honor room.

Michael Jordan is one of the NBA legends, and many teams in the league preserve the jersey number 23 (Jordan’s iconic number) as a sign of respect for his contributions to basketball. However, this action has also faced opposition from some stars in the league, including Shaquille O’Neal.

In the program The Big Podcast with Shaq, former Miami Heat star and NBA legend shared: “I don’t want to show disrespect to anyone. But to be fair, what Miami Heat has achieved is partly due to our contributions. Michael Jordan or Bill Russell has never played for Heat. These two stars have built their legacies with the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. As one of the leading players who helped Miami Heat win championships, I’m not happy about this.”

With his global reputation, Jordan has become an icon, and his greatness is still respected to this day. Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest player in NBA history, and his jersey has been hung up as a symbol of honor not only at the Chicago Bulls but also at the Miami Heat.

Miami Heat also expressed their respect for Jordan to the extent of wanting to retire his jersey number so that no player could own it. However, some players disagreed with this move. According to O’Neal, if you have never played and competed for the team, hanging a player’s jersey who is outside the team is an unacceptable matter.
