The distraught mother and her cub were found in a pitiful state, completely exhausted, severely dehydrated and emaciated. They had been fighting like a lost family, never having access to adequate food.
The mother’s desperation was palpable as she struggled to provide for her little one. It was a heartbreaking and distressing sight. Fortunately, a compassionate Samaritan came to her aid. He provided them with much-needed food and then took them to a veterinary clinic.
The veterinarian, although bewildered by her condition, knew she could make a difference. The mother dog received essential intravenous fluids and tonic, since she was so weak that she could not even stand. It was evident that she needed time and adequate nursing care for her recovery.
These two innocent souls had been living in the shadows of abandonment and hardship, but now they were embraced with love and care that would last a lifetime. Their diet improved significantly and their foster mother gave them the love and attention they deserved. Each passing day she brought them closer to healing and recovery.
After just three months of dedicated care, the mother dog had made a remarkable change. She was gaining weight and getting healthy again. Her puppy was also growing up in a wonderful state of well-being. All of this was possible thanks to the efforts of Abrigo Animais Amigos and the kindness of everyone involved.
