The rufous headed parrotbill is a large species within the parrotbill group, measuring approximately 20 cm. It boasts brown upperparts and creamy underparts, along with a relatively large beak. The large parrot-billed babbler, which is approximately 20 centimetres in size, is commonly referred to as the great parrot-billed babbler. This bird has a broad beak, a brown upper body, a white underbelly, and noticeable bright brown feathers on its forehead that gradually diminish towards the crown. Both males and females have the same physical characteristics.
