Electric vehicle maker Polestar has revealed its latest concept car – an exciting electric roadster featuring a personal drone. Unveiled at the 2023 Geneva Motor Show, the Polestar O2 aims to bring thrill and innovation to sustainable driving.

The sleek convertible roadster has a distinct retro-futuristic style. Its hallmark feature is a cinematic rear-end design that integrates a drone into the car. When parked, the drone can launch from its housing built into the back of the roadster.

Controlled autonomously or manually by the driver, the drone carries an advanced action camera. It can be deployed to record video while the Polestar O2 is being driven. Potential capabilities include tracking the car’s journey, filming hair-raising stunts, or simply capturing scenic routes.

Footage from the drone is seamlessly transmitted to the driver’s screen inside the roadster cockpit. This creates an immersive experience and allows the owner to relive the drive from exciting new aerial angles.

Powering the Polestar O2 is an electric drivetrain generating up to 650hp. With max torque instantly available, the roadster can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds. Range is estimated at 270 miles before needing a recharge of the 80kWh battery pack.

In keeping with the brand’s eco-conscious vision, the interior of the O2 features extensive use of sustainable materials. The seats are made from 3D-knitted recycled PET bottles, plant-based bio-composites, and vegan leather.

Polestar plans to put their futuristic concept vehicle into production should there be sufficient interest. The initial launch would be limited to 500 individually numbered roadsters worldwide. Expect the Polestar O2 price to be around $200,000 when this thrilling electric car hits the road.
